How to Download Twitter / X Videos

Desktop / Browser

  1. 1Find the tweet that contains the video on twitter.com or x.com.
  2. 2Copy the URL from your browser address bar. It should look like twitter.com/username/status/1234567890.
  3. 3Paste the URL into the download box above and click Download.
  4. 4Choose the video quality if multiple options appear, then save the MP4 to your Downloads folder.

Mobile (iPhone & Android)

  1. 1In the Twitter or X app, tap the Share icon on the tweet (the arrow/box icon).
  2. 2Tap Copy link to Tweet from the share options.
  3. 3Open Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android) and navigate to vidforyou.net.
  4. 4Paste the tweet link into the download field and tap Download.
  5. 5iPhone (Safari): when the download finishes, tap the arrow icon in the browser toolbar, then tap the file and choose Save Video. Android: the file saves to your Downloads folder automatically.

Things to Know

  • →The tweet URL must point to a specific tweet containing a video — a profile page URL or list URL won't work. The URL should contain '/status/' followed by a long number.
  • →Twitter GIFs download as MP4 files rather than animated GIFs. This is actually the format Twitter uses internally, and MP4 is more compatible across devices and far smaller in file size.
  • →If a tweet has been quote-tweeted with additional video, make sure you copy the URL of the original tweet, not the quote tweet.
