What does this extension do?

It adds a one-click download button directly on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok pages while you browse, so you never have to copy-paste a URL.

Is it safe to install?

Yes. Because it isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet, you install it by loading the .zip directly with Developer Mode enabled — a standard Chrome feature. The source code is identical to what we're submitting for Web Store review, and you can inspect every file in the unzipped folder before loading it.

Which browsers does it work with?

Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and any other Chromium-based browser that supports unpacked extensions.

Do I need an account to use it?

No account, no sign-in, no registration of any kind.

Where does it save downloaded videos?

Straight to your Downloads folder — the same place any regular browser download goes.

How to install manually

Direct download while we go through Chrome Web Store review — works the same in Edge, Brave, and any Chromium browser.

  1. 1Download the .zip file using the button above.
  2. 2Unzip it to any folder on your computer (right-click → Extract All, or use any unzip tool). Don't delete the folder after installing — Chrome needs it.
  3. 3Open a new tab and go to chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions for Microsoft Edge).
  4. 4Turn on Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner.
  5. 5Click Load unpacked.
  6. 6Select the unzipped folder you extracted in step 2.
  7. 7The VidForYou extension icon should now appear in your browser toolbar.
