About VidForYou
VidForYou is a free online video downloader that lets you save videos from the platforms you use every day — without installing an app, creating an account, or paying a subscription fee.
The problem we solve
Social video platforms are designed to keep you watching inside their apps. Saving a video for offline viewing, sharing it outside the platform, or simply keeping a copy of something you created is surprisingly difficult — often requiring third-party apps with questionable permissions, watermarks you didn't ask for, or premium paywalls.
VidForYou removes that friction. Paste a link, pick a quality, download. That's it.
Our mission
Fast, free, and honest video downloads — with no dark patterns. We don't require you to sign up, we don't ask for your phone number, and we don't bury the download button behind five ad clicks. We run display advertising to keep the lights on, and we're transparent about that.
We also believe downloads should respect your privacy. Videos are streamed directly from the platform's servers to your device — we never store, view, or log the content of any video you download.

We fetch the available formats
Our server sends your URL to yt-dlp, a trusted open-source video extraction library. It contacts the platform and retrieves the list of available download formats and qualities — nothing else.

Choose your quality and download
Select your preferred resolution (or MP3 for audio only) and click Download. The file streams directly from the platform's CDN through our proxy to your device.
Your privacy matters
