About This Tool

Facebook has billions of videos across personal profiles, public Pages, Facebook Watch, and the Reels feed — but unlike YouTube, there's no built-in download button for viewing others' content. Facebook removed it around 2019, leaving users with no reliable in-platform way to save videos offline.

VidForYou's Facebook Video Downloader works by accepting any public Facebook video URL and fetching the video file directly from Facebook's CDN. It supports all Facebook video formats: standard posts, Facebook Watch, Reels, Live recordings (after the stream ends), and Page posts. Both full facebook.com URLs and shortened fb.watch links are accepted. No Facebook login is required, and no watermark is added to the downloaded file. The video downloads at the highest quality Facebook has stored — typically 720p or 1080p for most uploads.

How to Download a Facebook Video

Desktop / Browser

  1. 1Find the Facebook video on a Page, profile, or Facebook Watch. Click the video to open it on its own page — the URL must contain '/videos/', '/watch/', or '/reel/'.
  2. 2Copy the URL from your browser's address bar. For fb.watch short links, paste those directly — they redirect to the same video.
  3. 3Paste the URL into the box above and click Download.
  4. 4When the info card loads, select the resolution you want (1080p or 720p if available).
  5. 5Click Download — the MP4 file saves to your Downloads folder.

Mobile (iPhone & Android)

  1. 1Open your phone browser (Safari or Chrome) and go to facebook.com. Find the video and tap on it to open it on its own page.
  2. 2Copy the URL from the address bar. Alternatively, tap the Share button inside the Facebook app and tap Copy link.
  3. 3Go to vidforyou.net in the same or another browser tab.
  4. 4Paste the URL and tap Download. When the video card loads, tap the quality you want.
  5. 5Tap Download. iPhone: the file saves to Files (Downloads). Android: it saves to your Downloads folder and appears in Gallery.

Good to Know

  • Copy the URL after clicking the video's timestamp to open its own page — feed URLs won't point directly to the video.
  • fb.watch short links work the same as full URLs — paste them as-is, no need to expand them first.
  • Want just the audio from a Facebook video? Try our Facebook MP3 Downloader to extract audio without the video file.
